Kevin Shaffer is a former heroin and cocaine addict from Ft. Pierce Florida. When Kevin was 18 years old he lost his father in a car accident in which drugs and alcohol were involved. Kevin spent most of his 20’s in and out of multiple institutions while battling his own addiction. At the age of 28 after sleeping on the streets for 2 nights Kevin checked himself into a local detox and moved on from there into a local halfway house with nothing. He used this time to become grounded in his recovery and build an amazing support group. He spent the first year working as a day laborer and at Denny’s. After saving enough money for his driver’s license and a vehicle Kevin had an overwhelming appetite to give back to other addicts the same way that others had given back to him. He started working in the substance abuse field as a Behavioral Health Tech and was promoted to a supervisor after 90 days in the field. He now has almost 5 years clean and sober and 4 years of supervisor experience in the substance abuse field. He brings with him the unique ability to get through to the most hopeless clients.
